... Men's declarations of love

Smitten men declare their love for their Miss Rights in the early days of a relationship, new research reveals.

A study by Ford to celebrate the launch of the new Fiesta said that men actually fall in love more quickly than women.

The research also identified the most popular times for men to say those three little words.

Unfortunately, rather than romantic moments, men are most likely to say 'I love you' when they are drunk.

Next in line was during or following love-making, while men were next most likely to express their love after their team had won a match.

In fourth place was 'after an argument', while special occasions including birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas came in fifth place.

A shocking 93 per cent of lovelorn men revealed they have made a mix tape for their other half.

Popular songs on the tapes include Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye, Crazy by Aerosmith, With or Without You by U2 and Whitney Houston's tearjerker I Will Always Love You.
