"Kiwi Woman looking for friendship, and maybe more " |
Hi
I've been in London for 6 years now, and whilst I love it here, it sure is difficult to make friends around my own age who are interesting, and free to get out and 'do things' on the weekends and after work.

| Occupation: | | PA/EA Administrator |
| | Education: | | BA |
| | Heritage: | | New Zealander |
| | Religion: | | I'm agnostic, although my degree is in Comparative Religions. |
| | Politics: | | I'd probably be described as Right of Centre, but as I've got older I've become less and less interested in following politics. |
| | Appearance: | | I'm slim, blonde, and I wear glasses. |
| | Languages Spoken: | | English, exceedingly un peau francais |
| | Musical Instruments played: | | Clarinet, Haven't played for very many years though. |
| | Music Enjoyed: | | Blues, Classical, Heavy Rock, Jazz, Led Zepplin has always been my favourite group, The Doors, Iggy Pop, the Velvet Underground, White Stripes. I only listen to Radio 6, can't see the point of any other station. |
| | Sports and exercise: | | I walk a lot these days, and exercise at home. Used to Dragon Boat, but I guess that doesn't count :-) |
| | Interests and activities: | | Acting, Internet, Reading, Travel, Walking, I belong to a Casting Agency and have worked as an Extra in a number of films in the UK. |
| | Animals and Pets: | | No pets. I prefer cats to dogs, and don't like birds in cages. |
| | Newspapers and magazines: | | The Times, not a fan of the Guardian - far too depressing and anti-everything. |
| | Books: | | Mervyn Peake, Michael Ondaatje, Roald Dahl, Ruth Rendell, Tom Wolfe, love reading and Tom Robbins used to be my favourite author - Jitterbug Perfume is wonderful, but now anything well written takes my fancy. Not into historical novels, tried Wolf Hall a couple of times but can't get into it. Have never read Dan Brown, or 50 Shades of rubbish. Cooking with Fernet Branca is fabulous, (it's a book). |
| | Favourite Films: | | Withnail and I, Amelie, Can't say that anything much in the 'tick list' does it for me. Like Drama, not rom coms that much, used to be a Trekkie (not the fancy dress, go to conventions kind, just liked the movies). |
| | Enjoyable evening out: | | Cinema, Meal, Theatre, Movies, Gallery. Love the V & A. I used to love going out to eat and drink red wine, but having discovered I'm allergic to wine now :-( (much sadness), I now drink Campari instead. |
| | Favourite Dishes: | | Anything, although I really don't eat that much these days, and stay away from starchy stuff (tummy doesn't like it, not for purely dieting reasons), I like offal & black pudding, don't like biscuits and cakes all that much, hate cereals, hate anything 'low fat', love cream and butter and cheese, and whilst I love dark chocolate, milk chocolate makes me feel sick. Hot spicy food is great. |
| | Ideal Holiday: | | Eating interesting things in France, trying new cuisine around the world, swimming in the sea anywhere warm, walking around cities, looking at people from different cultures. A trip along the Canal du Midi by boat. Orient Express from start to finish. Vietnam from top to bottom. |
| | In another life: | | A chef, Hillary Clinton, me but with more friends :-) an author |
| | Personality: | | Intelligent, a bit of a loner, quirky, kind, generous, shy extrovert, helpful, reliable, different from most women my age I think, which is why I don't have any female friends of my age, I like young people as they are usually more open to new ideas. Can't stand women who have to have a man in their life to validate themselves. |
