... 200 metre wedding dress 200 metre wedding dress

25 October 2007

A loved-up man in China commissioned a wedding dress which is 200 metres long for his fiance.

It was made by a local factory in Guangzhou city, reports the Guangzhou Daily, and took three months to make.

Factory owner Zhang Xiaoyun said: "I was amazed to hear that he wanted such a long wedding dress for his fiance, but was quite touched by his sincerity.

"It's 200.8 metres long, with 208 butterfly knows and the tail is three metres wide. The whole piece weighs close to 100kg."

The groom, Ken, originally planned to make the train 2008 metres long, as a tribute to the 2008 Olympic Games to be held in Beijing.

"But it would have been too hard to make and to handle. So I changed the length to 200.8 and I hope the long train will bind us together forever," he said.

The pair had their wedding photos taken in a sunflower field, with the train spread over the entire field.

It took almost five hours to lay the dress out for the pictures.ADNFCR-1043-ID-18331375-ADNFCR
