Be romantic for charity
16 January 2008
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is offering a chance to be romantic, while raising money for charity.
|
People are being asked to write love notes, to be posted in the window of BHF shops for £1, all of which will go towards the charity's Valentine Appeal.
Extra romance can be added with a photo, or a larger note, for an extra £1 while local businesses can buy special notes for £10, £20 or £50.
According to the BHF, there are 2.6 million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease and the funds raised in the Valentine Appeal will go towards supporting them.
The charity is also encouraging romance and friendship for a good cause, with fundraising dinners or with gifts such as a spa day or necklace from the BHF website.
Great Ormond Street Hospital are also running a campaign from Valentine's Day: the Kiss It Better campaign will raise money in association with Tesco.
