... British women making the effort British women making the effort

Women check their reflection every 30 minutes, a new survey has revealed.

And men are also pretty high up on the vanity scale, gazing a mirror only slightly less frequently
.

Women clock up 34 mirror checks, with 89 per cent carrying mirrors with them, reports Reuters.

And many re-do their make-up 11 times a day, ensuring they look at their best.

People reach their image conscious peak at the age of 27, checking themselves in a mirror 52 times a day on average. But pensioners are much more laid back, only looking in the mirror five times in a day, the poll by Transformulas revealed.

There are some interesting geographical variations among women, with those from Bristol checking their appearance the least, while Liverpudlians are the most conscious of how they look.

Rosalind Chapman, from the beauty company, said: "British people often get criticised for not being as image conscious as our European counterparts but this survey is the proof that we love to check our appearance and look good."ADNFCR-1016-ID-18343508-ADNFCR
