Brits experiencing more pain
20 August 2008
Whether it's heartache, hangovers or toothache, new research reveals that British men and women are experiencing more pain.
|
A study by Nurofen Express has revealed that UK residents now suffer a collective 2.3 billion episodes of pain a year.
The research showed that women suffer 56 bouts of debilitating pain a year, while men suffer from 41 instances of excruciating pain.
These range from headaches, to period pain to toothache, to sports injuries - but are symptoms of the average Briton's extremely hectic life.
Dr Linda Papadopoulos, a leading celebrity psychologist, said: "This increase in common aches and pains could be a consequences of what seems to be an increasingly 'yo-yo' approach to our health, where our hectic and sometimes hedonistic lifestyles result in haphazard and inconsistent care for wellbeing, peppered with the occasional guilt-ridden health kick."
She added this is becoming increasingly common among British women who strive to be the perfect wife, perfect employee and perfect mum.
