... Brits not afraid of office relationships Brits not afraid of office relationships

29 August 2008

Two-fifths of British office works have intimate relationships with their colleagues, new research claims.

Office Angels, the leading office recruitment agency, claims that the average UK office worker spends an estimated 600 hours ogling at a work-mate they are in love with during their career.

The research was based on a survey of 1,200 office workers which also found that workers drink 32,000 cups of tea or coffee, make 110,000 phone calls and receive more than 320,000 emails.

David Clubb, managing director for Office Angels, said: "Day-to-day working life may whizz by week after week, but it's fascinating to see how the average person's working life stacks up into post-it note and email mountains," as reported by the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

"There are so many exciting prospects available in employment today that my advice would be to take the opportunity, wherever possible, to sample new career paths.

"Ask your employer about any job swap opportunities or different responsibilities you can undertake to keep your working life exciting. Variety is the key."
