Brits would swap nationality for more romance
2 October 2008
The vast majority of British men and women would swap their nationality if they had the choice, according to a new survey.
|
Research commissioned by swap directory www.swapz.co.uk revealed that 89 per cent of UK residents long to be from another more exotic country.
Around 67 per cent of British men fancy themselves as Italian Stallions so they can have better luck with the ladies.
While 72 per cent of women envy the glamorous Parisian chic in favour of their dull existence.
The study of more than 2,000 Brits found that the miserable British weather was the main reason why they would swap their nationality, with 84 per cent citing the cold and 64 per cent saying they want to live in a more cultured community.
Around 18 per cent of men said they would love to be a laid-back Ozzie to benefit from the antipodean barbeques and beach babes.
Meanwhile, woman wanted to be Parisians or Venetians because of their romantic reputation.
Paul Kay, founder of Swapz.co.uk, said: "I witness every day how much us Brits love to swap, but to find out that nearly 90 per cent of us would happily swap our nationality is a surprise, even to me.
"It's quite funny to discover that British women are after some culture and romance and British men are after football and 'beach babes'."
