Couple tie knot for third time lucky
5 November 2007
A couple have got married for the third time in 35 years.
|
Bert and Jean Jolly first wed in 1972, with a celebration costing £300. Their first dance was to Tell Laura I Love Her, and they went on to enjoy eight years of happy marriage, during which they had five children.
But they got back together later that year, marrying again in 1980. This ceremony was brief and in a registry office, reports the People.
Their first dance on this occasion was to I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton. But their love was not to last.
Then last month they decided to give it a second go in the company of 26 grandchildren, with the first dance taking place to Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On.
And the pair are lighthearted about their romantic indecision over the years.
Bert said: "With all the business we've given our solicitors over the years, they should have been our bridesmaids."
Jean, aged 54, said: "Everyone tells me I must be addicted to wedding cake but the truth is it's Bert I'm addicted to."
