Couple to celebrate 75th wedding anniversary on Xm
24 December 2008
True love really is the lasting kind for one couple who are set to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve.
|
The Ledger-Enquirer.com reported on the heart-warming story of Millard Herring and his wife Dorris who doesn't recall any "tough times in the marriage".
Dorris explained that the reason the couple find it easy to conduct their relationship is that they have love and respect for one another.
She said: "There wasn't any situation we couldn't work out because love and respect were always present."
It seems that Mr Herring agrees as he said: "If you're really in love, you don't have to work at marriage."
He was obviously struck by his wife from the moment he met her as he explained that the first time he ever set eyes on his wife he told someone that one day he would marry her.
According to a study in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, men were more likely to believe that women have sex when they are in love and women think that men have sex without being in love.
