Death defying climber misses girlfriend's birthday

When it comes to excuses for missing your birthday, this has got to rank pretty highly.
A man who hung from the side of the cliff for seven days said his biggest fear after coming back to solid ground was seeing his girlfriend

While he was on the seven-day hike, Adam Young missed his girlfriend Liz Lewis's 22nd birthday.
Mr Young undertook the bold feat to raise money for a liver cancer charity after losing his sister to the disease.
He said after completing his challenge: "It was really, really tough. I had peaks and troughs," reports the BBC.
And remembering his girlfriend's birthday would probably have fallen into the latter category.
But it is thought she forgave him following his impressive bravery and patience.
