Dog and man wed

A man from India has married a dog following the advice on an astrologer.

Selvi, the three-year-old bitch became the bride to Selva Kumar who is 30 years her senior.
He took bold action in marrying the dog to rid him of a curse which was put on him after he killed two dogs while they were mating before hanging them in a tree some years ago.
After killing the dogs he began to suffer paralysis and the astrologer claimed that marrying the dog could end the curse.
The dog-bride was dressed in a pink silk sari for the ceremony, and a sacred thread was hung around the dog's neck as sign of commitment, in keeping with the traditional Hindu ceremony, which was held at the Manamadurai Ganesh temple on Sunday.
The newlyweds later enjoyed the bride's choice of banquet, consisting of buns.
It is not yet known whether the curse has been lifted.
