... Fast-paced life a danger to Brits Fast-paced life a danger to Brits

19 February 2008

The fast-paced nature of British modern life could eventually lead to a meltdown, according to new research.

A survey out this week showed that UK residents are harming their relationships and health by racing through life.

The study revealed that the average couple has sex for under 20 minutes, while one in five eats their dinner in just ten minutes.

We are also racing through our finances, with 17 per cent of people revealing they spend their monthly salary in the first week after getting paid.

Psychologist Honey Langcaster-James warned: "There is a real danger people are heading for meltdown unless we slow down and realise that there are only so many hours in the day in which to get everything done."

She added: "Relationships and family values could begin to suffer if we don't make enough time for our loved ones.

"And our health is at risk if we don't take steps to manage our time more effectively."
