Grooms 'uncertain' about brides' past
19 February 2008
Grooms in the UK are not entirely certain about the whole of their brides' past, according to a new survey.
|
Similarly, a third of grooms are not totally convinced that they are the love of their bride-to-be's life.
Only one in three are 100 per cent sure they can name the last person their fiancee kissed before them, while 40 per cent are unsure of whether their bride-to-be had been proposed to by someone else previously.
The survey was conducted by wedding speech website Charge Your Glasses.
Lawrence Bernstein, the site creator, said: "Romance may not be altogether dead, but it doesn't seem that prospective married couples are fully aware of each others' past, or some rather important features of their present.
"For instance, less than half of grooms are sure that their bride would come to them first if they had a problem with them.
"On the flip side, every single man who answered the questionnaire had at least some idea about his wife's saving and debt situation, which suggests that for the typical groom, if you look after the pennies, the marriage will look after itself."
