... Internet dating couple opt for TACO wedding Internet dating couple opt for TACO wedding

13 January 2009

A couple who met on an internet dating site have tied the knot at American fast food restaurant, Taco Bell.

While most people go to great lengths to research the venue for their nuptials, Caragh Brooks and husband Paul decided that they wanted to get married at the eatery because they liked to spend time there, the Daily Mail reported.

Located in the appropriately named town of Normal in Illinois, the ceremony cost the couple just $200 (£135).

The restaurant had been decorated with streamers and balloons but was not closed exclusively for the pair and the Daily Mail reported that other diners carried on eating as the ceremony went ahead.

Caragh, who is from Australia, met Paul online and they chatted on the phone for nine months before the 21-year-old made the move to be with her beloved in the US.

Commenting on the unusual venue for the wedding, the groom said simply: "It's appropriate. It's an offbeat relationship."

His mother hinted that it was an ideal set up as she said: "This is the way to go - there's no stress."

The pair clearly found true love online, as the groom explained: "We think alike in virtually every manner. We have the same interests, viewpoints."

January is a popular time to join dating sites and the Telegraph recently reported that at this time of year the number of people looking for love online doubles.ADNFCR-1016-ID-18969780-ADNFCR
