Love actually does exist
8 January 2009
They say that love is rarely as it appears in the movies, but that wasn't the case for one man who decided to create a tailored version of his girlfriend's favourite film.
|
The Daily Mail told the story of one love-struck man who decided to replace a scene in the film Love Actually with a piece where he tells his girlfriend how much he loves her.
Dan Ferguson's plan didn’t stop there, however. After appearing on screen in a series of T-shirts declaring his love for girlfriend Caroline Thomas, he turned to her and removed his jumper to reveal a T-shirt that read "will you marry me?"
Mr Ferguson said: "I must admit I was so nervous that she might turn me down. But she cried and said yes about fifty times. She has made me so happy."
He explained that they were both fans of Love Actually, and he wanted to re-create the scene where a man tells Keira Knightley's character how much he loves her by holding up a series of cards.
Caroline described her fiance as "wonderful" and said that she "loves him so much".
Love Actually centres around a series of characters in the lead up to Christmas and their varied experiences of love, dating and relationships.
