Love at first sight for hapless robber
26 February 2008
It was love at first sight for one lovestruck thief who fell for the cashier at the bank he was robbing, according to reports.
|
Bruno Perez, 31, did not exactly make a good first impression when he held a gun to 21-year-old Lucia Marcelo's head and demanded that she hand over the cash.
The hapless robber got away with the cash he stole from the Genoa bank, Ananova reports.
However, it seems that Cupid's arrow had truly struck him as he could not get the gorgeous cashier's face out of his head as he counted the cash alone at home that night.
So the romantic robber returned to the scene of the crime the next day, risking everything to deliver a bunch of flowers to a dumbfounded Lucia, as well as some of the stolen cash.
The clever cashier kept Bruno talking while she activated the silent alarm and the police arrived a few minutes later to arrest him.
A spokesman for the police said: "It seems he could not resist coming back to ask her out, even though he knew the risks."
