... Love in the classroom Love in the classroom

21 February 2008

Around 60 per cent of Britons have found love in the classroom, according to a new survey.

Research from the Learning and Skills Council revealed that love is rife in learning environments, with school or college one of the most popular places to start a relationship.

Nearly one in five of those who started going out with someone while in higher education are still with them today, the survey found.

It seems that love in the classroom has increased in recent years. Just 43 per cent of over-65s revealed they found love while at school, college or university, compared with 70 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds.

Celebrity psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos said: "Learning new skills and bettering ourselves is a great way to build self confidence and it's not surprising to find that people commonly find love and are more receptive to romance when in learning environments."
