Love is in the air this Christmas

The festive season seems to be bringing with it an air of love and romance if new research showing an increase in engagement rings is anything to go by.

According to a survey by Star Jewellers revealed in Femalefirst.co.uk, there has been an “unusual” increase in sales of engagement rings over the past six weeks.
The survey by the jewellers also revealed that men are, perhaps surprisingly, becoming more interested in purchasing rings for themselves.
Adrian Demondez, head of retail at Star Jewellers, explained: "As it's become more socially acceptable for men to wear jewellery, they want to share in the excitement of the engagement by making an outward and demonstrable commitment to their partner."
Those questioned in the survey revealed that they wanted a marriage proposal to take place in a romantic location.
They also agreed that engagement rings were an important part of being asked to be married.
While in the UK it is customary for an engagement ring on the left-hand ring finger, in countries such as Poland and the Ukraine the ring is usually worn on the right hand.
