Men choosing cars over women
24 September 2007
Men in the UK are spending more time pampering their cars than the women in their lives.
|
A new survey by fish4cars found that one in three men spends nearly £20,000 on accessories for their car, including spoilers, alloys and wing mirrors during their lifetime.
However, the average man buys a gift for his partner only every two months.
And it is not just money that the cars win out on, with much time dedicated to these four-wheeled friends.
Almost half of the respondents had given their car some TLC in the last fortnight, with a fifth spending at least two hours cleaning and polishing their pride and joy.
But one in ten men claimed not to have shown such a level of affection to their partner ever, reports Easier.com.
Some 29 per cent of men admitted to fantasising about an erotic encounter behind the wheel.
Joe Slavin, CEO of fish4cars, said: "It is a sad story to hear that some men enjoy spending time cleaning and tinkering with their cars more than wining and dining their loved ones."
