After last year's floods, Brits will be pleased to know that they can concentrate more on life's pleasures this year as the Met office has forecast a 'typical British summer'.

The Met office is predicting a summer with above average temperatures and average or slightly above average rainfall levels for the summer months meaning Britons will be able to indulge in sunny summer dates.

Romantic strolls along the beach, picnic dates or al fresco candlelit suppers will all be on offer thanks to the forecasts for the coming months, so love is sure to be in the air.

Head of Forecasting at the Met Office Brian Golding said "Our predictions for last autumn, winter and spring have all given accurate advice, giving more confidence in our latest summer forecast."

The Met office also encouraged everyone to "make the most of the weather".

Meanwhile, couples should set time aside in order to spend quality time together, romancetips.com has advised married couples wanting to spice up their love lives.
