Scent of a Whopper
2 January 2009
Finding love can be a daunting task but luckily those people at Burger King may have made it just that little bit easier with the launch of a barbeque-scented cologne.
|
Possibly not the most obvious smell someone would consider when attempting to attract a partner, Burger King seems convinced that the body spray, entitled Flame, will work wonders for men’s love lives.
Flame is described by the company as a spray which contains the "scent of seduction with a hint of flame-broiled meat".
If that isn't enough to put people off, the website Firemeetsdesrie.com, proclaims: "The Whopper sandwich is America's favourite burger - Flame by BK captures the essence of that love and gives it to you. Behold now you can set the mood for whatever you're in the mood for."
It is possible that the marketing people at Burger King had their tongues firmly in their cheeks when they devised the body spray, but it is a bone fide product which can be purchased from the site for $4 (£3).
In a 2002 study published in the quarterly journal Physiology and Behavior, an unnamed synthetic chemical in women's perfume seemed to increase intimate contact with men.
