... Sex ban for Singapore jet's mile high passengers Sex ban for Singapore jet's mile high passengers

1 November 2007

The virgin flight of Singapore Airlines' new A380 was an exciting time for the passengers on board, but one form of excitement was ruled out.

Those lucky enough to be able to splash out on a journey spent in the world's first airborne bed were banned from getting friendly under the sheets, reports the Times.

Tony and Julie Elwood, a couple who took advantage of the luxury beds offered on the flight, were disappointed that they could not make full use of the facilities.

Tony, 76, said: "So they'll sell you a double bed and give you privacy and endless champagne – and then say you can't do what comes naturally? Seems a bit strange."

Stephen Forshaw, from Singapore Airlines, said: "If couples used our double beds to engage in inappropriate activity, we would politely ask them to desist.

"There are thing that are acceptable on an aircraft and things that aren't, and the rules for behaviour in our double beds are the same ones that apply throughout the aircraft."ADNFCR-1043-ID-18339803-ADNFCR
