... Supermarket couples finding love Supermarket couples finding love

27 November 2007

A supermarket is sending numerous couples up the aisle.

After meeting in the shop, a third couple are about to tie the knot, with the latest pair getting engaged in the Asda store in Eastleigh
.

Checkout assistant Gavin Horstead got down on one knee when his girlfriend Carrie came in to pick up some essentials, reports the Daily Echo.

The couple met ten months ago when Carrie and her mother were shopping and went through Gavin's checkout.

Gavin said: "I was really nervous this morning. I couldn't stop shaking and my legs were like jelly but I was pretty confident she would say yes. I'm so pleased she did. I love her so much.

"I thought proposing here was a great idea because this is where we met and that would make it extra special for us both."

And the new lovebirds are not the first to have found love in the supermarket.

Lesley Mead, from Asda, said: "This is the third marriage proposal we've had ion store and we have at least three more couples planning their weddings after meeting each other here. Asda is obviously the place to be if you want to find love."ADNFCR-1043-ID-18372113-ADNFCR
