... Teachers wed with school's support Teachers wed with school's support

24 October 2007

A school was recently the scene of romance, as two teachers tied the knot.

Helen Griffiths and Richard Vidal met working at Stamford Primary School in Croydon and quickly became close.

On a half term break to Venice, they became engaged on a gondola and in the run-up to their recent wedding, got the whole school involved in their nuptials, reports icCroydon.

Helen broke the news to her class by telling them that her name would be changing to Mrs.

She said: "They thought I would be Mrs Griffiths – I said no, I'll be Mrs Vidal. It was amazing. You could have heard a pin drop. And then they were so excited."

And the children had the chance to get involved, as Richard had a competition for the children to design the wedding invitation.

Richard said: "We had about 200 entries and it was terribly difficult to choose the winner because of the age range and so many were fantastic."

The winner was six-year-old Sophie Watts.

They plan to honeymoon at Christmas, having just enjoyed a half term break at their home.ADNFCR-1043-ID-18329716-ADNFCR
