One of the eternal mysteries of the dating game is why women are always attracted to the men who are the least likely to be good for them.

But psychologists think they may have explained why this pattern repeats itself in every generation, even with the dawn of the new man.
According to the new research, a man's ability to flirt can override his bad qualities, reports the Daily Mail.
Indeed, women are said to overlook a bad temper if the man has a sparkle in his eye.
And a link between attractiveness, facial expression and flirtiness was also uncovered.
Dr Andrew Clark, a psychologist from Bristol University, said: "Anti-social men can make up a lot of ground by just being flirtatious.
"We found that the two [attractiveness and flirtiness] coincide - the most flirtatious faces were perceived as being the most attractive."
He continued: "I think antisocial men who behave flirtatiously are either fooling women into thinking they are not so bad, or they're demonstrating that they are not so bad."
