A new study has revealed that women are not interested in dating a man who doesn''t have a job.

A massive 75per cent of women were "turned off" by unemployment in the survey conducted by Lunch Dating site, "It''s Just Lunch".

Irene LaCota is a spokesman for It''s Just Lunch commented: ''Not having a job will definitely make it harder for men to date someone they don''t already know.''

Of this 75per cent - whilst 33per cent absolutely refused to entertain the notion of dating a guy with no job, 43per cent said they would "consider" dating someone who was unemployed providing getting a job was a priority in the near future.

Irene added: ''This is the rare area, compared to other topics we''ve done surveys on, where women''s old-fashioned beliefs about sex roles seem to apply.''

Men appeared to be more open-minded with 46per cent saying they would be OK with dating a woman who was out of work and 19per cent going on to say they had "no reservations" about dating an unemployed woman.

On the other hand, could the fact that so many single men are not bothered in a woman''s employement status mean that the old-fashioned attitude that belittles the importance of a woman''s job is still prevalent?

It would therefore appear that the advice for guys is if you don''t have a job you should at least have some professional goal and be engaged in meaningful activity or you''ll be a big turn off for women.
