Women want weedy guys for long-term love
12 September 2007
Women want men who are less manly and more weedy when it comes to finding a partner for marriage, a new survey by the University of Durham has revealed.

It also found that men are not so concerned by feminine looks when it comes to finding a life partner, favouring physical traits that will make a better mother in women.
Men and women were asked to look at 30 photographs of the opposite sex to determine which they found the most attractive.
For short-term relationships, men chose pictures of women who they regarded as being more feminine.
Those selected for longer-term relationships were more likely to look healthier, youthful and as if they would be a better parent.
Dr Michael Burt, of the University of Durham, is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: "It shows that men are interested in personality for long-term relationship. But for short-term relationships it doesn't matter so much."
Women were found to favour men who looked "kind and honest" for long-term love, while typically masculine men were viewed as fine for flings.
