Workplace romance?
12 February 2008
One in five workers married someone they met and dated while at work, according to a survey by CareerBuilders.co.uk.
The research also showed that 39 per cent had gone on a date with a co-worker at some point, with the 18-24 age group most likely to have found their date at the office

.
However, using relationships as a mercenary tool is apparently ineffective as 98 per cent of office workers say that dating someone at work did not progress their career.
Tony Roy, managing director of CareerBuilder.co.uk, said: "It appears dating in the office is becoming more acceptable as 69 per cent of workers say they do not have to keep their romances a secret at work."
People considering starting a relationship with a colleague may be interested to know that the survey showed that most romance happened at post-work happy hours, with only eight per cent claiming it was love at first sight.
However, a survey by Reed shows that one in three has exchanged a flirtatious email or text with a colleague, despite being in another relationship.
