I've fairly recently moved to Torrevieja but have been living in Spain for years and speak fluent Spanish. I'm looking to meet new people to do stuff with but am not adverse to a long distance relationship either as I'm probably one of the few people that believe they can work.
I'm a very sociable, happy type of person who gets along with most people. I'm happiest when I'm around like-minded people - those who don't take life, or themselves too seriously. Banter and good conversation are hugely important to me, as is that elusive spark.
I'm as happy in heels as I am in my well worn walking boots and love to go out and watch live music and / or dance. I'm not a mad fitness fanatic but if the sun is shining you'll find me out rather than in. I like to dress up when the occasion presents itself but am not a slave to fashion.
I love most genres of music, like to go out for meals, to the cinema, to the theatre and anywhere there's good company and conversation. I'm also a 10-pin bowling fan and am soon to embark on getting my PADI scuba licence having done a try-dive in Mexico and found I quite liked it.
I'm independent both financially and emotionally so want, rather than need, someone to share the good times with. If it's to be then fine and if not, then life is already pretty good anyhow :-)

My work background is varied, from Investment Banking to Care work.
My upbringing was Catholic but I do not attend Mass and religion does not play any kind of important role in my life. I believe that we should treat one another with respect whatever our beliefs are and that no religion is the 'right' religion.
I am neither far right nor far left in my political views. I am green'ish but not militant green :-)

Bill Bryson, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Iain Banks, J. R. R. Tolkien, John Grisham, Nick Hornby, Terry Pratchett, Michael Moorcock. I like Science Fantasy (not fiction) and quirky storylines. I don't do gory or violent. I enjoy autobiographies and really enjoyed Tony Cascarino's which included Italia '90 stories. Ireland's finest hour and the furthest we ever got in the World Cup :-)
Gone with the Wind, Jean de Florette, In Bruges, Gone Girl, Argo... Too many favourite films which escape me right now. Ok, so I KNOW they're not films but have to add Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Knightfall and This is Us. Also The Handmaid's Tale and The Ozarks. I had a fall last year and was confined to bed for two weeks so Box Sets saved my sanity.
Blues, Classical, Gaelic, Pop, Soft Rock, 70s music, 80s music, 90s music. I like most genres of music apart from line-dancing style country. Favourites include The Eagles, Leonard Cohen, Squeeze, Adele, Crowded House, REM, Glen Hansard (going through my iPod lol), Neil Young... it's an endless list!
Pleasures
Cinema, Restaurant, Pub, Wine bar, Live Music, Theatre. I'm generally up for anything that doesn't involved jumping out of planes, jumping off bridges or doing anything life endangering. I enjoy life so don't want it to come to a sudden or abrupt ends
I currently have no pets but am a dog person rather than a cat person :-)
Chicken Tikka, A Chinese banquet, Fish and Chips, Lasagne, Lemongrass and ginger marinated chicken, Mediterranean vegetables and Ricotta wrapped in Filo, Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding, Smoked Salmon, Steak and chips, Veal Escalope, jumbo prawns. I'm a foodie so like most anything - Spanish, French, Asian (Indian, Thai, Chinese etc) but am not keen on slippery foods like eels, snails or oysters
Driving slowly around Ireland, Lying on a beach in the Caribbean, Scuba diving in Thailand. Open to suggestions as there are so many places to see - preferably with someone else. I don't mind travelling on my own but find it's nicer to travel with someone like minded.
