Bogart seeking Bacall
Is there anyone out there who wants to sail out of sight of land, walk all day in the hills, waltz on the lawn with me when we get back from a lock-in at the pub, go to the airport and take the next plane to anywhere to enjoy their days somewhere warm?
Or equally, to be at peace, enjoying time together doing nothing.
If you are reading this then, like me, you will be wondering about the next stage in life…………….
Well of course, there are no guarantees, but in my case I’m relearning French, Voltaire just now, and trying Tai Chi whenever I can, surprisingly difficult, looks easy, but getting that inner balance right………; with a plan to settle in France next year, Créhen, near St Malo, warm and quiet.
Practising Tai Chi in a scented garden warmed by the sun before going on to play Pétanque and debate Sartre with the locals, then with a glass of red, or three, and a smoky log fire awaiting, no traffic, no supermarket for at least 20 kilometres and, above all, no Brits ..............
Imagine?
Now to be totally honest I would like to hear from anyone who either knows a little about quantum theory which all works out beautifully although alien, illogical, bizarre and completely counter to Newtonian physics and classical mechanics or one of the more interesting guys from history such as Voltaire qui a ecrit:
Si vous voulez que j'aime encore,
Rendez-moi l'âge des amours ;
Au crépuscule de mes jours
Rejoignez, s'il se peut, l'aurore.
Des beaux lieux où le dieu du vin
Avec l'Amour tient son empire,
Le Temps, qui me prend par la main,
M'avertit que je me retire.
With a true understanding of what he was really on about.
In the south of France there is supposedly a special time known as the night of the falling stars. On this night, everything is just so. Perfect and magical. According to the French, the stars seem to pour out of the sky, like cream from a pitcher.......
Oh well! That’s me - in an almost perfect nutshell. Then again, the moon is not a perfect circle.
How about you; any dreams to share?
And maybe a dream can come true ……………
Knowledge of Existentialism, Sartre, Voltaire, Quantum Mechanics or Pétanque not essential.
But a sense of fun with an enjoyment of a smoky red wine……….?
